President, Business Advisor
Cathy Melton is the President and Business Advisor for My Business Advisor, LLC. Cathy began her career in the field of Accounting, working for a large CPA firm in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The long hours of Tax Season while raising young children did not provide her with the flexibility she needed. It was during this time when Cathy discovered an innate desire to become an Entrepreneur. She created a bookkeeping company in 1995, specializing in helping start-up companies with their accounting QuickBooks software, and business development strategies. Her experience in Turnaround Management and Human Resources helped many businesses to restructure their systems to improve employee performance, retention and corporate culture.
In 2016, a large real estate company in Orlando, Florida hired Cathy to turnaround a negative corporate brand. With a growth rate of over 600% in 3 years, the company was experiencing high turnover rates at the Corporate and Agent levels, as well as a much needed rebranding effort. With over 1700 agents and 21 Branch Offices, overcoming a negative brand began by conducting a current state assessment of systems, technology, corporate staff, Branch Managers, Executive Teams and corporate Brand. Cathy developed and implemented new strategies, plans, and training programs at the Agent and Branch Manager levels; developed a new Corporate Brand, improved existing Corporate Culture, and championed and implemented agent retentions programs to help make the company more intelligent, strategic and responsive to the growing demands of the Real Estate industry.
Cathy is also a licensed Real Estate Broker in the State of Florida, a licensed as a Real Estate Sales Associate in the State of Michigan, as well as a Certified QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Pro Advisor, and Certified TSheets Pro.
