Day #7 Engaging & Retaining Employees Opinions Count

Asking an employee for their opinion should not be confused with rule by committee.
Rule by committee provides everyone with differing opinions to come together for a project with no unifying plan or vision. This is the best way to kill teams and can have a negative impact on culture and employee morale.
Every work environment encounters problems. Asking employees for their opinion or insight, engages them with problem solving opportunities while enhancing participation rates. What better way to problem solving, than providing employees with a sense of pride and ownership of helping to discover and implement solution based ideas on their contributed opinion and/or insight?
A positive work environment involves asking for employee insight and opinions, thereby, creating an environment of value and trust.
